CITY OF CAMBRIDGE – STREET DEPARTMENT – The City of Cambridge Street Department is looking to hire reliable, seasonal workers. This position will be responsible for performing semi-skilled manual work.  Seasonal workers are utilized in various departments. ECONOMIC & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT – The City of Cambridge is currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Environmental Hazard Inspector for the Economic and Community Development Department.

Essential Functions:

  • Applicants seeking employment need to have licenses for both lead and asbestos testing of structures.
  • Must be capable of writing work specifications for both lead and asbestos abatement.
  • Track asset inventory of computers and peripherals.
  • Have knowledge and experience using a computer and software such as Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF.
  • Track support requests submitted by Department Heads and individual users.
  • Uphold policies and follow administrative guidelines and procedures.
  • Promote the proper use and care of city property.
  • Respect personal privacy. Maintain the confidentiality of privileged information.
  • Participate in staff meetings and other meetings as assigned.
  • Accept personal responsibility for decisions and conduct.
  • Wear appropriate work attire and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Promote a favorable image of the City of Cambridge.
  • Perform other specific job-related duties as directed by the Director of Public Safety or his/her designee.

Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age, of good character, trustworthy, honest, and in good physical condition. Have excellent diction and hearing as well as fluently speak, write, and understand English. Possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Able to pass background check with no prior felony convictions and drug screen.

May be subject to a pre-employment polygraph examination.
